Ivy’s Log Cabin
We purchased the Log Cabin from the same auction north of Bozeman, Montana. Ivy was selling the family farm and everything had to go. As Ron and his crew took the log cabin apart (just like Lincoln Logs, no nails except at the doorway and roof). Connie listened to Ivy all day tells stores of her growing up years. This log cabin was the same size as the one she (and her mom, dad, and brother) lived in until she went to college. They had no electricity and no indoor plumbing. Her grandparents were actual pioneers, so the stories were wonderful and a great education.

We learned from a cabin restorer in Montana
about a new chinking called Log Jam. It expands and contracts with the weather, so we should not have the problem of having to chink every year like the pioneers did. It is a very cute little home – but being the size of just a bedroom, we aren’t sure how a family of four would do in it. Come visit and sit a spell – it is very relaxing.
When we got back to Kent, the crew put the “lincoln
logs” back together and we had “Ivy’s Log Cabin”.
Now the Log Cabin is used for the groom’s dressing room at weddings. It is open at all events for guests
to tour, and even sit a spell to relax.
